Obsidian + Synology Sync Problem
Why your notes aren't syncing.
Obsidian Notes, often referred to simply as Obsidian, is a powerful knowledge management and note-taking software that allows users to create and organize notes in a highly flexible and interconnected manner. It's also free and open source.
Unlike many cloud-based note-taking apps, Obsidian stores notes locally on the user's device. This provides greater control over data and enhances privacy and security. However, if you have a Synology NAS, you can actually keep your notes (a folder called vault) on it, and access it from different devices. The vault folder can be placed inside a Synology Drive synchronized folder.
If you have done it, you may have noticed that even though the main notes synchronize, the configuration files needed for proper note management, do not.
When opening your Synology Drive client, and clicking on details to see the Logs, you will notice that some folders (such us .trash or .obsidian) are not syncing.
The fix is to open the Sync Rules on your task, and making sure Sync files and folders with the prefix "." is checked (it is not by default)
